3 Days 2 Nights – Mount Rinjani Trekking via Sembalun to Senaru

Mount Rinjani Trekking via Sembalun to Senaru Itinerary

Day 1: Senaru – Sembalun – Start Point – POS 1 – POS 2 – POS 3 – Sembalun Rim

After an early breakfast at Senaru Village, we embark on a thrilling 4WD journey to Sembalun. Upon arrival, we register at the Rinjani Trek Centre Sembalun (1,156 meters) and begin our trek through picturesque open grasslands.

We pause at POS 1 and POS 2 for rest and snacks, then reach POS 3 (1,800 meters) by midday for a longer break and lunch.

Energized and refreshed, we tackle the steep ascent to the Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 meters). Here, we set up camp for the night and enjoy breathtaking sunset views over Lake Segara Anak, Mount Rinjani Summit, and the landscapes of Northern Lombok.

Day 2: Sembalun Crater Rim – Summit (3,726 MASL) – Segara Anak Lake – Hot Spring – Senaru Rim

At 3:00 AM, we wake up for a light breakfast and begin the challenging three-hour trek to the Mount Rinjani Summit (3,726 meters), where sunrise offers unforgettable panoramic views.

After celebrating at the summit, we return to the campsite for a hearty breakfast and a rest, before descending into the caldera to reach the beautiful Lake Segara Anak (2,000 meters).

Enjoy a refreshing soak in the natural hot springs near the lake, followed by lunch at the lakeshore. We continue trekking along the lake before ascending through the lush forest towards the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 meters).

We set up camp here for the second night, with stunning views of the lake, Gunung Baru (the new volcanic cone), Mount Agung in Bali, and the Gili Islands.

Day 3: Senaru Crater Rim – POS 3 – POS 2 – POS Extra – POS 1 – Jebak Gawah – Senaru Village

After a wholesome breakfast, we begin our descent, passing through POS 3, POS 2, and POS 1, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere of the dense forest.

We pause for breaks and a leisurely lunch along the way. Around 1:00 PM, we arrive back at Senaru Village (601 meters), where this memorable journey concludes.
